Rockwood

Built in the 1960s, Rockwood was once a thriving neighborhood church in Independence, Missouri. But by 2017, years of decline and disrepair had taken their toll. A burst pipe caused severe water damage, the roof leaked, and the HVAC system no longer worked. The building’s future looked uncertain.

In 2019, Narthex acquired Rockwood from the denomination and began a full restoration—repairing the roof, replacing the HVAC, and revitalizing the entire space. Today, this beautiful church stands strong once again, now home to four congregations who share its walls and its spirit.

Rockwood is living proof that what’s well built can always be restored.
