Historic Salem

Since 1923, Salem Lutheran has stood proudly on a historic corner in Lenexa, Kansas. When we met their pastor in 2018, his first words said it all: “I don’t know why we own real estate.” The church faced hundreds of thousands of dollars in needed repairs — a leaky bell tower, a flooded basement, and an underused outbuilding.

Narthex worked closely with the board and congregation to create a plan that would secure their future. After voting to partner with Narthex in 2019, the property was sold, repairs were made, and new life began to flow through the building.

Today, Salem Lutheran remains in their same space — stronger than ever — with restored facilities and fresh resources to invest in ministry for the next hundred years.
