The Narthex Partnership Program

Faithful Transitions. Sustainable Ministry. Shared Stewardship.

Legacy churches face complex decisions about their facilities. Church planters and growing congregations need stable, affordable spaces.

Narthex exists to steward church properties through faithful transitions that preserve ministry, strengthen communities, and create pathways for the next generation of church leadership.

Our partners — church leaders, denominational networks, and trusted advisors — play a vital role by providing insight, guidance, and local understanding that help Narthex identify and evaluate opportunities aligned with this mission.

How It Works (High-Level)

1. Advisory Insight From Trusted Partners

Partners share perspective and insight regarding:

  • Churches in transition

  • Facility challenges or opportunities within their networks

  • Community, cultural, or denominational considerations

Partners do not act as real estate brokers, agents, or intermediaries, and do not negotiate or represent any party in a real estate transaction.

2. Narthex Evaluates and Executes as Principal

Narthex independently:

  • Evaluates potential opportunities

  • Structures acquisitions or financings

  • Engages licensed real estate brokers where required

  • Assumes all transaction risk

  • Manages the transition, leasing, and long-term ownership strategy

Narthex acts solely as principal, not as a broker.

3. Transition and Continued Ministry Use

Where appropriate, Narthex:

  • Acquires or finances the property

  • Supports interim or long-term ministry use

  • Creates a clear path to stability or ownership for congregations

The goal is continued ministry impact — not vacant buildings or distressed sales.

Partner Compensation (Advisory Model)

Narthex may engage partners to provide non-broker advisory and consulting services, including but not limited to:

  • Facilities and mission alignment assessment

  • Congregational readiness and transition planning

  • Stakeholder coordination and communication support

  • Community and denominational advisory insight

Compensation Structure

  • Compensation is paid as a flat advisory fee, agreed upon in advance

  • Advisory fees are not based on a percentage of any purchase price

  • Advisory fees are not contingent upon the consummation of any real estate transaction

  • Advisory fees are paid solely for consulting and advisory services

No compensation is paid for the referral, introduction, procurement, or negotiation of real estate.

Zero Transactional Risk for Partners

Partners no not manage real estate, provide capital, underwrite transactions, or assume operational or financial liability.

Narthex bears all acquisition, financing, and operational risk.

Sustainable Reinvestment and Kingdom Impact

Each successful transition supports broader ministry goals:

  • Church buildings continue serving ministry purposes

  • Growing congregations gain stability and a path forward

  • Legacy churches are honored through faithful stewardship

In many cases, selling churches voluntarily choose — consistent with their governing documents and applicable law — to direct a portion of their net proceeds toward church planting or mission initiatives, further multiplying impact.

Why Partners Work With Narthex

  • Mission-aligned stewardship model

  • Nationwide operating capability

  • Disciplined, compliant execution

  • Respect for church governance and denominational structures

  • Clear separation between advisory services and real estate transactions

This is not charity. It is strategic stewardship — designed to honor legacy, strengthen ministry, and build the future.

Every great partnership starts with a conversation.

Let’s explore whether partnership makes sense.

Founder’s Vision

Narthex — creating a marketplace for the transfer of church buildings to the next generation of believers.

For too long, the national narrative has suggested that the Church is a dying institution. From where I sit, that couldn’t be further from the truth. We currently have 92 churches on our waiting list for space. I’ve seen congregation after congregation in our buildings experience remarkable growth — including one that grew from 300 to 600, another from 600 to 1,200, and a third from 800 to 1,600 members.

Many of us have built businesses, firms, and practices — and we invest enormous time thinking about stewardship and how to pass on that legacy to the next generation. What would happen if you applied that same thinking to the historic church in your neighborhood?

– Rob Boyer, Narthex Founder

“As an investor, it’s important for me to believe in the mission of the organization. Narthex is creating opportunities for local churches to impact our communities in ways they wouldn’t otherwise be able to. I’m honored to have a small part in it and to see Narthex making a difference."
